Vishay announces the launch of a new line of yellow, light yellow, warm white and white 1W power SMD LEDs. The Little Star VLMK71.., VLMY71.., VLMW71.. and VLMW711.. series offer low thermal resistance and high light intensity for a wide range of applications. The new Little Star LEDs are available in SMD power packages with a small footprint of 6.0mm x 6.0mm and an ultra-thin thickness of 1.5mm. These devices are the most rugged and light-efficient products. These devices are designed for high current drive and provide extremely high brightness and high luminous flux output. Both light yellow and yellow LEDs offer two choices of luminous flux. The white Little Star has white VLMW711.. and warm white VLMW71.. versions, each with three luminous flux options.
These new LEDs are optimized for backlighting and lighting in automotive and transportation, consumer and general applications. Typical end products include handheld mobile terminals such as cell phones and PDAs; traffic lights; advertising displays; appliances such as ovens and microwave ovens; and external automotive lighting devices such as turn signals and brake lights. In addition, white LEDs are an ideal alternative to incandescent lamps for general lighting.
All devices in the new series offer a 60° half-intensity angle and a 120° viewing angle and are compatible with IR reflow processes. These LEDs are certified to the AEC-Q101 automotive standard and are RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC compliant.
