Next year, global LCD TV shipments will soar

Today, according to Taiwan media reports, according to market research company Digitimes Research, global LCD TV shipments in 2014 will reach 213 million units, an increase of 4.6% over 2013. The main factors driving LCD TV sales growth are the digitalization of emerging markets and the FIFA World Cup in Brazil to be held in 2014.

Digitimes Research estimates that Samsung Electronics will become the largest LCD TV maker next year, with shipments reaching 45 million units; followed by LG Electronics, which will ship 29.5 million units.

Among Japanese manufacturers, Sony’s LCD TV shipments will be around 12.5 million units, Toshiba’s shipments will be 9 million units, Panasonic’s and Sharp’s LCD TV shipments will be 8 million units and 7.5 million units respectively. .

TCL will become the largest LCD TV manufacturer in China. Its shipment volume will reach 15 million units. The shipments of several other manufacturers are: 12 million units from Hisense, 9.5 million units from Skyworth, 6.8 million units from Konka, and Changhong. Haier each 6.2 million units.

The shipments of LCD TVs in South Korea, China and Japan will be 35.2%, 26.3% and 17.4%, respectively.
