Niscape teams with Stanley, sues Seoul Semiconductor

In two unrelated announcements, LED maker Nichia has licensed its white LED technology to Stanley, and has filed a patent lawsuit against rival Seoul Semiconductor. Two Japanese LED makers, Nichia and Stanley, have signed a licensing agreement that will give Stanley access to Nichias white LED products and technology, according to a report on the EE Times website.
The move will strengthen Nichias sales into the automotive lighting market, where Stanley is a major supplier. Stanley expects that the addition of Nichias high-power white LEDs to its portfolio will also be useful in many other application areas.
Back in 2002, Nichia licensed its white LED technology to another Japanese LED manufacturer, Citizen.
Nichia files lawsuit against Seoul Semiconductor
In unrelated news, Nichia has filed a complaint for alleged patent infringement in Osaka District Court. The lawsuit is against Japan Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd., the Japanese subsidiary of Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd. of Korea, and its distributor, Kyoei Sangyo Co., Ltd.
The complaint alleges that Seoul Semiconductors Z-Power LED P9 series white LED products infringe two of Nichias patents numbers 3,511,970 and 2,778,349. Nichia seeks damages for past infringement as well as an injunction against further further infringing activity.
A lawsuit against Seoul Semiconductor in the United States is currently pending, in which Nichia is seeking damages for past infringement as well as an injunction against further further infringing activity, based on Nichias US design patents on side-view type white LEDs.

High Voltage Unarmored Cable

High voltage unarmored cable is a type of electrical cable that is designed to carry high voltage electricity without any armor or protective covering. These cables are typically used in applications where the cable is not exposed to physical damage or environmental hazards.

The construction of a high voltage unarmored cable typically includes a conductor, insulation, and an outer sheath. The conductor is usually made of copper or aluminum and is designed to carry high voltage electricity over long distances. The insulation is made of a high-quality material that is designed to withstand the high voltage and prevent any electrical leakage.

The outer sheath is typically made of a durable material such as PVC or polyethylene and is designed to protect the cable from moisture, chemicals, and other environmental hazards. Unlike armored cables, unarmored cables do not have any additional layers of protection, which makes them more flexible and easier to install.

High voltage unarmored cables are commonly used in applications such as power transmission, distribution, and industrial automation. They are also used in renewable energy applications such as wind and solar power generation.
