According to the experience of the base rot and dwarfism in the 2000-year-old Puli field, Huang Jinxing, an assistant researcher at the Agricultural Research Institute of the Agriculture Commission, found that dwarfism did not appear as long as bamboo shoots were lit under street lighting. They began to plan for the night-time irradiation of white bamboo shoots. The metal sodium lamps were used in 2004, but the brightness was too strong. There were also differences in the agricultural products in different blocks.

In October 2010, the ITRI installed LED lighting in the Nanbai-Jinbai field, which was approximately one-fifth of the ground, and was harvested in the spring of 2011. The second installment of the LED lighting installed by the ITRI later expanded the area of ​​the white bamboo shoot field to the first place.

According to Taipower’s tariff calculations, the annual consumption cost of the Puli Bianbaisun is about NT$50 million. According to the calculation of the ITRI, the first phase has already saved 50%, and it is expected that after the second phase, 90% will be saved. Electricity fee.

In addition, ITRI also uses the spectral range that is helpful for plant photosynthesis and selects red and blue LEDs for lighting planning. It is estimated that white bamboo shoots can be harvested in the coming year.
