How to charge a new battery

Connect the positive pole of the battery to the positive pole of the power source and the negative pole of the battery to the negative pole of the power source

The initial charging is carried out in two stages: first, charging the electrolyte with the initial charging current to release the air bubbles, and the cell voltage rises to 2.3-2.4V. Then, the current is reduced to 1/2 of the initial charge current, and the charge is continued to the electrolyte to release violent bubbles, which is stable for 3 hours than the continuous voltage. During the charging process, the temperature of the electrolyte should be measured by the method of halving the current, stopping charging or cooling, and controlling the temperature at 35 to 40°C. When the initial charging is completed, if the specific gravity of the electrolyte is not specified, use distilled water or electrolysis with a specific gravity of 1.4. Liquid adjustments. After adjustment, charge it for 2 hours until the specific gravity meets the regulations.

After the new battery is charged for the first time, it often fails to reach capacity, and discharge cycles should be performed. Discharge at 20hh discharge rate, and then add a sufficient charge current, after a charge and discharge cycle if the capacity is still less than 90% of rated capacity, should be a charge and discharge cycle.
