The EU halogen lamp ban will be implemented next month, "classic lighting" into the past
Next month, the "sixth phase" of the ban on halogen bulbs will be implemented in the EU. Since the fall of 2009, according to a European directive, energy-saving lamps have gradually disappeared from the market. For retailers and manufacturers, starting from September 1 this year, according to the halogen lamp ban, related products may no longer be circulated in the UK or elsewhere in the EU. This ban is aimed at the popular classic halogen bulbs, which are usually made of glass and are fully illuminated. They are available in E27 or E14 socket styles and can be operated without a transformer. Non-directional halogen lamps for some G4 and GY6.35 plug-in sockets are also affected. However, there are reports that there will be a delay before the buyer feels the impact, because the retailer can sell its remaining inventory. Therefore, buyers have enough time to upgrade their lighting to compatible LED lights. As early as 2009, with the development of science and technology, the EU has plans to eliminate halogen lamps in the region year by year and replace them with more advanced LED technology. However, since the halogen lamp series products were cheaper than the LED series products, they also had a large ratio in terms of market share. Once the halogen lamps were rashly eliminated, it would cause nearly 10 billion losses to the EU region. Therefore, according to the continuous development and promotion of LED lighting technology, the EU proposes to phase out the halogen lamp series from 2016 to 2018. The European Commission reviewed Regulation No. 244/2009 on technological progress and decided to postpone the implementation date of the sixth phase of the Regulation by two years until September 1, 2018. However, it is worth mentioning that for consumers, how to choose a suitable light source or luminaire has become more and more complicated, and the EU's ban on the sale of a number of inefficient lighting products is increasing. Consumer confusion. An international consumer survey commissioned by leading manufacturer Landevence not long ago showed that consumers lacked an understanding of halogen lamps that would be banned. 64% of UK consumers are not aware that since September 2018, popular halogen bulbs can no longer be used anywhere in the EU. If the consumer has heard the ban but does not know the consequences, then the figure will be 10% higher. Nearly four-fifths (79%) of those who do not know the ban belong to the 50-60 age group. More than half of the respondents (54%) have not heard of the next phase of the ban, and they think their understanding of the lighting system is good or at least adequate. In contrast, the 18- to 39-year-old age group and the high-income and high-education populations are generally more aware. The survey also showed that in many people's purchase lists, it also clearly contains old technology that is outdated. For example, 27% of Germans still list “traditional light bulbs†in their shopping list, and they don’t seem to realize it at all. In addition to the goods in stock and special-purpose light source products, the EU's lock-up order has been in effect since September 2009, and the store no longer sells any conventional light source products. Another surprising thing is that the demand for halogen lamps is still very strong. Since 2009, these products have been banned from being sold in the market in stages and in batches, and this ban will further accelerate implementation.
We are Manufacturer and Supplier to offer modular plugs in standard configurations to terminate modular cords for patching or work area applications. Our Modular plugs can be terminated to the exact cable length needed in order to maintain a neater, more organized installation. The modular plugs terminate twisted-pair cable with 26 - 22 AWG (0.40mm - 0.64mm) solid or 7-strand conductors with an insulated conductor diameter of 0.86 - 0.99mm (0.034 - 0.039 in.). All modular plug contacts have 50 microinches minimum of gold plating over nickel and meet TIA-968-A and IEC 60603-7 specifications.
Modular Plug is the name given to a family of electrical connectors originally used in telephone wiring and now used for many other purposes. Many applications that originally used a bulkier, more expensive connector have now migrated to modular connectors. Probably the most well known applications of modular connectors are for telephone jacks and for Ethernet jacks, both of which are nearly always Modular Connectors.
Modular Connectors were originally used with the registered jack system, which precisely describes how the connectors are wired for telecommunications. The registered jack specifications define the wiring patterns of the jacks, not the physical dimensions or geometry of the connectors of either gender. Instead, these latter aspects are covered by ISO standard 8877, first used in ISDN systems. TIA/EIA-568 is a standard for data circuits wired on Modular Plug&Connectors.
