Diesel vehicle emissions in 2008 using the Euro III standard

Recently, the "Diesel Emissions Technology Seminar" co-sponsored by the State Environmental Protection Administration's Motor Vehicle Emission Control Center and Tsinghua University was held in Beijing. At the meeting, Director of Science and Technology Standards of the State Environmental Protection Administration introduced that the State Environmental Protection Administration has issued a new standard for diesel vehicle emission control this year, and will strive to achieve the equivalent emission requirements of China's diesel vehicles in 2008.
According to Director Luo, since 2001, China has begun to implement the first-stage standard for diesel vehicle emission control, which is equivalent to the standard requirements for Euro I diesel engines. This year, the State Environmental Protection Administration announced the third, fourth and fifth stage standards for diesel vehicle emission control in China. It will be implemented in January 2007, and strives to meet the requirements of Euro III standards in China in 2008.
