Amimon introduces new technology to provide wireless VR video without delay

Amimon pushes wireless AR/VR technology for 2K resolution, 90 frames of zero delay transmission

At present, the inconvenience of high-end virtual reality (VR) systems is that wires are needed to transmit power and data to head-mounted devices. It is reported that Amimon has demonstrated a new technology for wireless VR and mixed reality (MR) systems at the VRX show in San Francisco.

Amimon introduces new technology to provide wireless VR video without delay

Amimon has patented a zero-latency HD video transmission wireless system that uses 5 GHz broadband to provide high-quality video for any environment that includes multi-user scenarios, such as in large-scale VR backgrounds. The system uses an embedded chip that can achieve 2K VR resolution at a frame rate of 90fps, similar to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, or a frame rate of 120fps at 1080p resolution, similar to PlayStation VR. High frame rates have been shown to reduce vertigo symptoms in VR.

The company has begun offering its HD wireless video technology to businesses and industries such as pharmaceuticals, cinematographies and commercial drones. Amimon is now introducing this technology to provide wireless VR video without delay, which is compatible with many existing VR systems.

“We are very excited to show you the technology we have been working on, which is a big step towards a truly mobile, seamless VR world and offers a completely undelayed VR experience.” Vice President, Amimon Uri Kanonich said, "Our technology development roadmap promises to support the next generation of AR and MR solutions, which will change the way we interact with our surroundings."
